I’ve been thinking about writing this post for a while now…I just didn’t really know where to even begin. So, I’ve decided to just start writing and see where things go.
My sister is the most amazing girl in the entire world. She is such a huge inspiration to me, and I love every chance that I get to spend time with her. We have always been pretty close to each other all through growing up, but it wasn’t until recently that I realized just how much I love that girl! (Don’t get me wrong, I’ve always loved her… I’ve just grown closer to her these past few months.)
I can’t believe how much she did for me while I was planning my wedding. She was always there for some stress relief. Also, being the maid of honor, she threw a GREAT bachelorette party for me! I can’t even explain how perfect it was! We had so much fun and we all laughed until our stomachs hurt.
She also arranged for numberous hair appointments, pedicures, manicures and even a facial…All for free. I don’t even want to know what I would have looked like if I didn’t have her around.
I am so grateful that I have grown up in such a wonderful family…I don’t think I could get any luckier. Melissa and I have so many memories together and I am so lucky I had her there all those nights where I had scary dreams when I was little (even if she DID make me cry by kicking me out…Just to give me a hug and comfort me.)
I wish I had the words to explain just how much I love her…But, I’ve never been very good with words. So, this is going to have to do for now.
I love you!
On Friday, Tyler came home from work and surprised with with Secondhand Serenade tickets. I was sooo excited.
We went to the concert yesterday and it was way good! I loved it! He is so good to me.
I don’t really have much to write about, but I figured that I should write another entry in this blog of ours so that we don’t let it get too abandoned.
To make this entry a little worth while, you can see a little snippet of our wedding video at http://www.redknightstudios.com/temple.html
I’m not sure how long it’ll be on his website, so get it while it’s hot. haha.
We’re still bugged that the guy put the song “Stolen” on there (we hate that song!) but, other than that it is beautiful.
Yesterday, Tyler and I decided that we needed to buy the American Idol game with some of our wedding money so that we could show off our skills.
When we got to trusty Target, we realized that American Idol only came with one microphone, whereas Sing Star came with two. We couldn’t pass up that great deal!
We decided to buy Sing Star 90s (I am ALMOST a totally 90s girl, you know…Minus that one year of my life).
It is SO FUN!
I’m sure we have bothered our neighbors to no end… But, we don’t care!
We rocked out to tons of great songs, and I am proud to tell you that I reached “super star” status on “More Than Words”…Thank you, thank you.
My throat hurts now, but it was totally worth it. I am so much better than Tyler at Sing Star…Now the world knows it.
Okay, okay…I’ll admit something. Tyler beat me at the “90s girl mix”…I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or not!
Ok so this is my first blogging adventure… Erika isn’t even here to hold my hand and make sure I don’t screw up… I could very well screw up, but don’t hate me if I do. Anywho, like I said I have never done this before, and so I thought I would just talk a little about the marital bliss that is my life (don’t get any ideas this is cleaner than your teeth after the dentist.)
I wanted to write about Erika and how amazing she is. It has been a special journey for both of us to get to this point, and we have loved every minute of it. No matter if times are good or bad I know we love each other through it, and are together until the end (except we are together forever so there is no end to that I say…. YEEESSSSS!!!) Erika and I met thru a mutual friend at my FHE, and that next week we hung out three times twice informally and once formally. Erika went to a concert with me to see one of my favorite bands Four Year Strong (I got so excited I accidentally headbutted her, I thought I was doomed.) She helped me pick out a shirt to buy, and it to this day is one of my favorites! That night we watched Forest Gump (a classic shame on you if you haven’t seen it.) Even though we were watching Forest Gump a snow storm came through and we got to watch the snow together it was pretty awesome.
After that night we were pretty much inseparable, and we hung out everynight, and it was so incredible I always got those nervous butterflies and would pace my apartment until she got there(I still get those butterflies.) We got to know each other so so well, and we called ourselves bestys and I stayed besty in her cell phone until we got married where I proudly became “husband face.” I found myself telling Erika things that I had never told anybody before, and I would just say am I seriously telling her this stuff? Yes I was, and it didn’t bother me because I had and have complete trust in her.
Our first kiss was everything I could have hoped for and more! It was amazing it was like my whole body was on fire after kissing her, and I just wanted to hold her close and never let go. After kissing we kept getting closer and closer and eventually we said I love you. It was actually one of the hardest things we both had ever said. We struggled for awhile each saying I have something I want to tell you but I’m afraid to do it. We struggled like that for awhile, and eventually said it, and the reason we both agreed it was so hard to say is because for the first time we actually ment it when we said it.
Soon after the I love you we realized that things were getting serious, and we realized we more than loved each other we were in love with each other (I hope you catch my drift there.) We soon went ring shopping, and found one that she loved, and one that I actually loved too. I bought the ring a week or two before I gave it to her, and it killed her knowing I had it, but not when I was going to give it to her. Well, the big day came, we were actually in California, and we drove out to the beach to watch the sunset. Funny story turns out my favorite beach was closed and wouldn’t open until 8 a.m. (turns out the sunrise doesn’t last that long). We went to another beach and finally in a last desperate hope turned into this little camping ground and found there was beach across from the campsites. We went and sat on the beach and had a little picnic while we watched the sunrise. Ok truth is we only ate two bagles and some fruit we were freezing!!! The seals were actually out on the bay and they barked the whole time (barking their approval of course.) Well after that we were drinking sparkling cider out of the wedding glasses that my parents used, and I pulled out a rose and asked her to do he loves me he loves me not (that is a time tested method that works!!) Anyways she tested it out, and found that stuck between two of the pedals was her ring. I got on my knee and asked her to marry me and well obviously she said yes.
The wedding was perfect absolutely perfect except for a tiny little mishap with flowers nothing was wrong with the wedding. We were so happy and felt truly that it was right. The honeymoon again was perfect! We spent it with Mickey and friends and than went to NorCal the place I grew up and got to see the Giants play and got to hang out with my family for a couple of days. Now we are just partying it up in our little apartment.
Well that is a brief synapsis or maybe not so brief synapsis of us, but I just wanted to end on just a few reasons why I love Erika so much! I say a few because to quote the scriptures “There isn’t room enough in all the books in the world to contain it.”
1. She makes me feel like the most important person in the world. Somehow I feel on top of the world when she holds my hand or cuddles me or I’m out with her, because when I’m with her in my mind is always the thought that’s right she is my wife.
2. She is one of few girls that can make me laugh. The difference between her and other girls though is that she makes my stomach hurt when she laughs… like it’s flat out dying laughing. I love her upbeat and happy attitude about life.
3. She makes me be a better person. They say when you are looking for someone to marry you always want to marry someone who makes you better as a person. I wasn’t a horrible person to begin with but she has made me erase a few bad habits and really made me a better person.
4. We fit together like peanut butter and jelly. We always seem to be thinking the same thing, and we complete each others sentences when we are talking, and are thinking the same thing (that’s right everybody lets her an awwwww….)
5. She is going to be the most amazing mother ever! She really is amazing with babies or with children, and looks so forward to the day when she can raise our children in righteousness.
These are just a few things that amaze me about her, and I really love our life together so far, and can’t wait for the future. Well everybody I would put pictures and stuff, but truth has it that is all greek to me so this is all you get for now!!
I’m not really sure what to write our first blog entry about…So, I’m just going to post a few pictures of the recent events and maybe a little blurb about each of them. (The spacing is all weird, sorry!)
My sister was the absolute best maid of honor that anyone could ever ask for. She was there through every decision and every breakdown. She also threw me the best bachelorette party ever. It was SO much fun! Erin, Melissa King, Susanna, my mom and Melissa all attended. We even had a special visiter…
This is the only picture from the bachelorette party that I can add…The others are just too inappropriate.
Our wedding day went perfectly. Everything turned out beautifully. Unfortionately, I don’t really have any pictures of the big day besides the ones posted on other people’s blogs. So, here are a few I stole from them to hold you over until I get the real ones from Alicia.
I wish I had more of the nieces and nephews (along with my parents, Melissa and “half brothers and sisters” as Abbie would say) but, these’ll have to do for now! You’ll havbe to trust me when I say that everyone looked great!
We had sooo much fun at the Anneversary Inn and at Disneyland! It was great to spend time with eachother and just have fun! (Although, we found those dang dot things everywhere we went!)
We had so much fun in Santa Rosa. It was a lot of fun to spend a little more time with Tyler’s family. Here are a few pictures from California. We only have the one’s from my mom’s camera.
While we were in Santa Rosa we (Mel, Curtis, Mom, and us) got to go to the Giants game in SF. It was so much fun but it was sooo cold.
While we were at the game, “Uncle Terry” got to play dress up with my newest nieces.
Our New Apartment:
We have the cutest apartment. Unfortionately, we don’t have any pictures of it right now. It is great though! It’s so much fun to decorate it together. Tyler says it feels like we are playing house, though.
Today, we went to our new ward. It seems like it’s going to be really fun. It’s a young married ward, so of course there are zillions of babies!… They give me something to laugh at during sacrament talks.
I think that that’s all for now (finally, right?) sorry this was so long… I just wanted to get the update all out of the way!
